Technical Data

“We have broken down the specification into each of the stages of manufacture:”

The Finials and crestings are manufactured in Aluminium. Our aluminium capping system for weatherproofing uses a twin-gasket system, and comes with a powder-coated finish.

Glass Unit Technical Data

As standard the glass units used are argon-filled, doubled-glazed 28mm (4-20-4) toughened units, providing an excellent low centre-pane U-value of 1.1W/m. In addition to this we can provide a range of glass types from ‘Solar Control’ to glazed units containing special gases. Contact us for further details.

Rafter Sections

The rafter section is 44mm wide, hips are 56mm wide. There is a Roman Ogee3 detail moulded into the underside of every timber section except the hip bosses which have a chamfer detail as standard. These moulds can be omitted or changed as desired (some options at additional cost).

The hand crafted centre bosses provide a traditional centre piece to every hip section.

Kits & Components

All timber roof lantern components fit together in pre-machined locations and depending on the lantern design fix in place either with a 2-part plastic clip or timber dovetail system. Both systems allow for a quick and easy installation process, eliminating the need to measure out rafter fixing positions and the like. Ring beams and eaves beams are designed in a range of sizes to allow easy installation onto standard ‘up stand’ openings.

Colours and Weatherproofing

All Prestige Roof Lantern components are fully refinished using the latest microporous technology in white, although any one off colour, RAL/BS4 or Farrow & Ball stain can be painted at an additional cost. Contact us for further details. View our full Roof Lantern Colour Range here

Material Types

We use Sapele or Oak as our preferred choice of timbers, providing only the finest furniture-grade hardwood available on the market. CAD drawings of our lanterns can be provided on request for any projects involving our standard ranges. Please contact us if you wish to discuss any of the above.
